I was just curious as to how many original owners were out there??? And do you remember taking her home...

I remember seeing her at the dealership... and... about 4 hours and $25,000 + later she was mine... :-D

My dad is the original owner of my car.

The car is still in his name, we never transferred it. No reason to.

I have tons of memories of the car back in early 90s when it was still just 'dads car'

before it became my personal obsession...

You're in elk grove? Next time i'm in Norcal visiting my friends at UOP, maybe I could stop by and visit you as well... Would be interesting seeing the car and hearing from the original owner.

I am an original owner here of my 1990 silver Supra. I purchased her in June of 1990 for 19K with 1K down and a trade of a 1986 MR2. Another dealer said he could not do a deal for the price I wanted so I looked around until I found what I wanted. It was sure nice to get her on the road for the first time. My new Supra felt like driving a truck compared to having driven an MR2 for a few years. I loved how solid it felt and so smooth too. Well almost 16 years later I still have her and love the way it drives and looks. For sure this is the best car I have ever owned.

I'm 22 years old, and I started buying cars about 2 years ago. *sniff* .. maybe in 20 years I'll be saying I'm the original owner of some car. But I dunno, new cars are so expensive, at least sports cars. When I buy something it'll probably be a cheap (but new or almost new) daily driver, and leave my Supra for the weekends and stuff.

I *was* an original owner of a 1990 MKIII. I've bought & sold 8 more Supras since then, but only the 1st one was a dealer purchase. I owned that car from early 1990 until I parted it out in 2000 - it had 260,000 miles on it at the time and the motor is in another Supra and is STILL running strong with 300,000+ miles on it.

I'm the original owner of mine. Bought June 22, 1987 from the dealer in Upland Ca. The window sticker (I still have it) shows $25,235. Forget what I actually paid but I was later reimbursed in full as part of a legal action I brought against my employer. It's been a good car. Cheap to own, very reliable (zero problems in fact), and fun to drive. Now at 138K miles. I rebuilt the motor at 104K but it still has the original turbo.

I'm not the first, but I would really like to thank the original owner for babying his car. I can tell even now that it was a weekend car and he hardly abused it. For instance, the steering wheel is only worn at the bottom left, which seems like the place to hold in light, leisurly driving. lol

Big thanks to him and the guy who made him give it up! Itd be cool to meet them.

I wish I was the original owner of my 88, I would have been 10 yrs old at the time, so I don't think I would have qualified for the loan anyways :p

But I've owned my sup since I was 17 so that's 11 yrs now and counting... I don't think I'd ever sell it.

Awsome response... all in all... it's better to be the best owner than the first owner... just ask my wife... LOL

OneJoeZee... that would be cool... just let me know hen you're up this way.

It's amazing to think how much there cars cost when they were new back in the 80's/90's. I had a friend who had a Porsche 944 back then thought I was a complete dumbsh*t for paying that much for a 'Toyota'... well... 17 years later, I still have my 'Toyota'... and someone is using his Porsche for a parts car... LOL

Being 46 years old, I remember seeing some very cool cars when they were new. One I will never forget is an orange 1969 GTO Judge new on the showroom floor at what was at that time Mike Salton Pontiac in Sacramento. Who'd have thought I was putting my 9 year old finger prints on a car that would bring over 100 grand in 2006.

BTW... I'm probably never going to get rid of my Supra either, I just hope I'll be able to get into it when I'm a old(er) fart. My 7 year old daughter is going to be pretty lucky... an '89 Turbo Supra and a '74 260Z when I kick!!!

I'm an original owner of a 1987 NA. It was the first new car I bought a few years after collage. Was going to get a mustang GT, but I saw one on the freeway one day and it really impressed me. I paid about 20K. I wanted the turbo with anti-lock, but it was 5K more and the insurance would be sky high. So I figured I'd convert it later. Which I finally did about 12 years later.
