I ordered new carpet today from 1A Auto.:naughty: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Carpets/Toyota/Supra/ACC3438/1971. Came out to $238.95 after shipping for a complete set (front and back). I ordered black since I'm changing my interior to a shadow grey color. Has anyone ordered from these guys, was the quality of the carpet as good as they it is. I thought the price was reasonable considering that included all carpet for the entire interior including hatch and 40oz jute dye cut to the carpet. It going ot take about 4 weeks to get in sice I'm in Canada.

Black and burgandy will look badass. They're both dark colors and will compliment eacother well. I'll post up a "how to" thread with tons of pics when it come in. Whe I get home I'll post pics of whats been completed with the sond deadening. I'll alos post a "how to" for the new replacment seat covers and cutom CF interior parts. This car is going to look like one of a kind when it is done.

1A auto are kewl ppl... the carpet I ordered from them before, was cut too short on the sides (by me). Be sure to install and test fit EVERYTHING, before cutting. I stuck screwdrivers thru the carpet, into each hole, so that I knew it would line up and the holes in the carpet would be in the right places.

Here's what it looks like after round 2... (yep, I painted the dash too)

I bought a black carpet online and it was cheap - I forgot how much, but I couldn't pass it up. Came with a section of carpet for the hatch area, too.

Yeah... The grey dash ended up with cracks, so I grabbed the brown (yuk) dash from one of the parts cars and followed the thread-info for redying/painting interiors.

As you can see, I still need to take care of the door panels to, but I do like the grey-black contrast, so I may not.

Another tip for cutting the carpet... the 1st time I used utility knife and scissors (that sucked).... Just get a razorblade (with handle) and make "slices," not holes. Here's what I did (when I did it right)....

After removing everything and old carpet....

1. I placed the carpet in the car and "sliced" right down the middle where the shifter goes (but all the way to the back).

2. Now that the carpet sits where it should and I made sure that the sides reached the door sills, I used sharp screwdrivers to poke thru and find all the holes (just remember everywhere U removed bolts from). Make "small" slices at every screwdriver so that the bolts can go thru.

3. When removing the screwdrivers to place seats in, etc... I used a contrasting paint (red nailpolish) to mark the holes. That way I could still find them.... takes a bit of work, but you'll be able to line upf the seats fairly easily.

Also... remember/notice that the seats have a guide near the front bolt hole. Be sure to make a hole in the carpet for these as well....

Well, A1 Auto emailed me back and wanted an additional $62 for shipping to Canada. I thought that was bullshit so I had them cancel my order. I contacted two other web sites a) www.stockinteriors.com an b) http://www.motorsouthcarpet.com. I bought from motorsouth carpet for $149.00 and got free shipping. Only problem is that this kit doesn't include the rear hatch area. I also changed the color of carpet on this last purchase to dark graphite. I hope I made the right decision, I thought that black would be too dark, and dark graphite would be just right. Now I'm having second thoughts. What do you guys think?

Look at the black carpet in my pics (earlier in thread).... That's black! Sounds like dark graphite might also be nice, but I would have to see how it contrasts with the rest of your interior.... Anyways, I'm pretty sure you'll be happy. Whether it was black, or sumthin' else... new carpet just looks good all by itself!

I'm just happy that there are carpet kits for the Supra out there.

Are these molded, and do they include the heel pad for the driver? If so, AWESOME for these older interiors.

I'm thinking of re-doing my interior and exterior one of these days.

Katskin leather seats, wrapping the dash and all the interior trim panels with alcantera and new carpet.

Out side, would be new paint, windshield and left quarter glass. (Do not weld or grind near your Supra... I thought I was far away, but some grinding slag totally screwed up my quarter glass.... it's minimal, but it bugs me.)

Some pics of the lighter carpet would be great. That black interior is like going into a cave man! Very dark, almost German in design for sure. (Like sitting in a 90's 3 series...)

That looks good Ideal! How are those seats? They look nice, how is the side support and what did they run ya? Are you/did painting the dash and console?

thanks man...i have so much more crap to do before its "done" ...... the dash is dyed and the center console is as well just not back in the car yet....the door panels are dyed as well and the inserts and bottom pieces where the stock carpet is on the doors have custom grey leather inserts now.... all waiting to go back in...im waiting on a few small parts to put shit back in....

the seats...they are great nice and comfortable to me for what they are....nice and tight around the hips area and good shoulder support.... they run about 1200 bucks for the setup you see there.... i got a good deal on them ;)

Your interior is looking great. I decided to change my interior to black because it didn't seem like many people were doing it. I guess I'm wrong and will have to find a shade just off black. Maybe charcoal or something. I was convinced that I didn't want racing seats in my car an keep the factory, but those corbeau's look awsome. I'm still going to stay with the factory seats, but those make me want to change my mind. BTW I just finished changing my dash lights to a different color (bright white and red). Thinking of changing the gauge bulbs to ultra violet.

For me getting the stock carpet to fit back in where it came from was difficult enough. So it may take some sweat and profanity, but I'd be interested in seeing how it went as well.

I highly recommend MotorSouth Carpet for anyone who is looking into replcing their stock carpet. Their sales dept. is great. The are open to negotiations, especially when it come to a cheaper price from someone else on the web. For you Canadians out there, they ship UPS witha tracking # and only took 5days for it to come in after the carpet was manufactured. This is a great company and well deserve the compliments

carpet came in this weekend and look great. Here is a pic of what it looked after I took it out of the box. I was surprised how it still maintained it's moulded shape. This company was very great to me.
