Ok I read in another post that I can go with a Ishino Head Gasket set and I should be good as far as a non metal head gasket that will not be so sensitive to a perfect finish of both the head and the block.

Other then a down pipe (which I need to replace) and maybe a performance air filter, I dont have any huge plans for this car right now. I need it to drive to work and school so I can pull the motor from my Mustang.

I dont plan on doing lots of hard driving, or going crazy with the mods either. I just want the damn thing done with for a while.

Anyways, this is the kit I have found, am I on the right track? I will probably still order a set of ARP headstuds for my own comfort and the fact that I can reuse them when the time comes for more fun.

A new stock headgasket has also proven to hold 500 horsepower when the rest of the car is up to the task. Many lost were improperly repaired the first time. Keep that in mind.

Thanks guys, I will order that kit tonight and reuse the stock head bolts. Whats the factory torque specs on the head bolts? 72 lbs is the correct torque these days right?

Factory spec is 58 foot pounds, and is NOT sufficient.

We torque to 72 foot pounds and have a lot more sucess.

Just wanted to see the difference between the two. I am going to order that gasket kit tonight hopefully I will get it Friday or so. I would like to have this car up and running soon.
