opinions on kyb gr-2's

Considering that there are much better options out there even if you're just looking for stock replacement dampers, I would pick something else over these. Bilstein or Koni would definitely be my choice over any KYB dampers.

KYB GR-2's are just stock replacements. They will be better than your supposed 100k + plus mile dampners, but if you are looking for performance, its better to speend a little more money, and get some performance oriented dampners.

ive had them on my car for a couple years now and their pretty good could be stiffer but with stock springs and suspension it doesnt bother me much, when i wanna go lower and stiffer ill get coilovers till then these will do just fine.

Well, what would you guys recommend then for a lil more money, etc.

I would like to upgrade my suspension also, but I want just a SLIGHTLY bit stiffer than stock but I want a comfortable ride as this is my daily driver and I DO NOT race/track my car.

On my previous Supra I have Eibach springs and it was jarrish and not at all comfortable and i'm now afraid to touch my suspension, but it could sure use an upgrade.

Open to suggestions.......for a comfortable ride & feel. Thanks.

probably because you put lowering springs on stock shocks.....HUGE NO NO!!!....you were probably driveing on blown shocks and the shock was bottoming out causeing it to bang and jar the car around.

Nah, they won't blown and I also asked my mechanic to confirm it for me. That whole experience wasn't good at all. Now i'm so cautious to do anything suspension wise.:aigo:

I've ridden/driven in an Eibach + KYB set-up and it's just fine. Not much stiffer than stock, though. I, myself, am debating heavily between suspension set-ups.

My considerations so far:

Eibachs or Tanabe(TRD) + KYB GR2: Pros being cheap and better than old stock set-up and comfortable ride. Cons: not as firm + non-adjustable
Price: ~410-450 shipped.

Eibachs or Tanabe(TRD) + Bilstein or KONI: Pros being firmer, adjustable whether it's height(Bilstein) or dampeing(KONI yellows); cons being higher price
Price: ~600-700 shipped.

Colorado roads are not great and it's my daily for summer and winter so unfortunately, linear springs aren't looking appealing.
