LMAO...you could always keep your foot out of it instead ;)

boosthard - you're not going to like the way it runs without a wastegate!

LOL, how do you figure?

I think Trey is assuming an external wastegate... But judging by the OP's post, i would assume he has an internal gate. And as already said, you can disconnect the actuator all you want, but what i wanna know is WHY???

because gas is $4 a gallon and people are trying to look for cheap, half-assed ways to save on fuel. (as opposed to driving like a sane person or *gasp* buying a more efficient vehicle)

If thats the question this has been gone over and over ad nauseum. The mk3 is quite capable of REASONABLE gas mileage with sane driving and simple fuel saving techniques. If you want exponentially more mileage, get an econobox.

with the conditions i've seen some various supras in lately, I'm not surprised people are getting shit mileage (eg. unhooked sensors, vacuum lines, etc)

Removed EGR, PCV, evap system... I have em all, and they're all hooked up and functioning properly, I even run a bit rich by my emissions sheet.

I come from a land down under
On a Turbo with a tight ar and a small WG even wide open it'll make some boost.

In this case having it open will yield better economy due to less restriction, I played around with the idea of a part throttle open gate awhile back to help with Wet weather traction control.

Is it really that hard to stay out of boost? I can drive around all day at a reasonable speed and not go under 0 in/hg =\

i find it rather hard to stay out of boost actually. just normal driving for me i tend to get 1-3psi. but my turbo was only doing 5psi... so yeah.

and i had an aftermarket boost gauge btw.
i think im still use to my n/a's style of driving... i miss it...

I shift under 3K. Everyone says a larger exhaust would make me lose torque, but it seems to be the exact opposite and it pulls much better from 2K to 3K when the turbo kicks in.

I don't drive like a pansy all the time either.

Hmm. I usually drive around without boosting until I make it to the main roads from my house and I have the little stock CT trying to spool all the time. But I shift well under 3k rpm when I drive easy. I do admit though, I have to make a concious effort to avoid boosting. If you're wanting to save gas that badly it's still possible though.
