Just wanted to verify with our resident experts what the Cygnus Fuel Injection diagram appears describe, that the coolant line goes to the TB, out from the TB, then to the top of the ISC, then out the bottom of the ISC and to the water port on the drivers side of the head.

Next, if that IS correct, do you have to pull both the upper and lower intake manifolds to get to the water port which is supposedly on the head underneath them? Can't see crap even with the intake plenum and upper intake manifold pulled.

For that matter, anyone got a pick of that water port? It would be much appreciated.

what are you trying to do with those lines, just replace them?

there is a hose barb near the centre of the lower manifold runner, which is the feed to the ISC. From the TB, the line connects to the tube which wraps around the block from the turbo side. unfortunately, I don't have any pictures at the moment.

If eliminating the lines, simply connect the line coming from the manifold runners to the tube near the rear of the block.

The guy the shop had put my engine back in the car screwed the pooch on a few things, including that set of water lines. The line off the bottom of the ISC? Had it hooked to a vacuum pipe. Big mess, working now to try and get it all back the way it should be and needed to verify the hookup for them.

I'll take another look in the morning for the hose barb, didn't notice it this afternoon but I thought it was further forward anyway.

Oh, followup question for you or any other interested party. If you've disabled your factory alarm with the usual method, what did you select for a good grounding point under the dash for the blue/orange wire you cut? I want to make sure that the alarm is truly dead and buried. With a stake through it's heart.

Thanks FN. Do you recommend pulling the lower manifold to make sure the barb is secure and the water line clamped good? I don't see how to do it right without pulling it.

I would give it a try using your 'minds eye' sort of thing (a mirror works wonders too), and if it doesnt work then you could resort to taking the manifold off.

If you can get it started in the hole by hand then you can get a wrench on there and tighten it on. The only thing holding the hose on the barb is one of those pinch together clamps.

I removed my alternator to give myself room to fit my hand under the manifold. Doesn't take too much work to do! Good luck!

the only real gains are not having to buy new hoses from the dealer...

tb/isc icing becomes a possibility for those in colder climates without the lines.

Exactly. Wherever there is a sudden pressure drop, such as across the ISC and the throttle, you will get localized cooling (venturi-flow cooling). The only requirement for icing is high humidity.
