went to go drive the supra tonight and shifted into reverse and it went in gear, reversed out of my parking lot and shifted into first gear but the car wouldn't move i had to rev it up to like 4k just for the car to barely move back into my driveway, what could it be. i filled the tranny up with 80w90 tranny fluid when i installed my motor. it drove fine and shifted fine for a couple weeks after. then tonight it just won't engage in first.

not likely, does it slip?
If it feels like its making a good connection in reverse, you may have lost your dog teeth or the blocker ring connection to the 1st gear speed gear.

alright i went out today to mess with the supra after work and noticed that my parking brake was locked and there was play in the parking brake handle. it would go up and down and it wouldn't unlock and release. so it's either my e brake cable that's messed up or i need rear brakes or something.

Also, check if it works in second. If it does, your first gear is pooched. If it doesn't, either the entire tranny is fubar'd, or more likely something external is broken - clutch, driveline, e-brakes...

tried it in second and got the same results. i think it's def the e brake cause the clutch is only 3 months old. never launched the car nor drove it for more than 400 miles since the clutch install.

uhhh... I have noticed (from experience) that the car will move rather easy in reverse while the ebrake is on, but when you try to go forward you will kill it. Jack the rear end up and see how hard those wheels are to turn. I but you have a hard time turning them. Thats why I never set a parking brake when I let a car sit for long periods of time. Thats what I would try. It's free anyway.

my clutch hydraulic systems in good shape. i took off the rear wheels and saw that my rear brakes were completely finished and the rotors were surprisingly hard to spin. so i'm guessing that it is the e brake that's locked. i will be getting new brake pads tomorrow and will also try to get the ebrake unstuck somehow.
