So yah im driving back home this morning and im doing about 55(steady driving).
Well all of a suddon it feels like my power steering went out.
about 20 seconds later my temp gauge spikes.
Now im only like a minute from home and on a very narrow road with some traffic so i cant stop. well when i pull into the house i notice some white smoke out the exhaust.
So the first thing i think is the turbo finally went out(I knew it was aboout on its last lag, havent had a chance to swap it out.
So a little help what do you guys think.
And there is no milk shake or air in the coolant.

a little off topic but do you have the high res of the pic in your avatar :)

It does sound like a BHG.

When i had one i had no white smoke, no milky oil, no really low comp #'s, and my radiator fluid was clean as can be. But then again i blew like 3 or 4 cyl's lol

but dont jump to conclusions just yet, do a leakdown test and a cooling system pressure test.

Lets see... power steering went out then the temperature spikes...

Broken belt? Broken several belts? Crank pulley broken off key? Overheat causes bhg.........

Does the PS drive off the same belt as the water pump? that would explain the loss of PS followed by a temp spike.

Smoking tailpipe is harder to say for sure. Wet plugs are never good to see =(
