got my transmission today...cleaned it up like new again on the outside....I have no idea how long the trans was sitting so I am draining all the fluid (w58).... Should I throw some clean parts cleaner in it and flush it out?????

NO!!!! If anything just put some new tranny oil in it. Shake it up a bit. Spin the input shaft a bunch. Then drain it and fill it with Redline MT-90 when you put it in the car.

What I would do, drain it, fill it with the cheapest 90 weight gear oil. Install the trans. Put actual miles on it, heat it up. Just shaking it and spinning the input shaft by hand ain't gonna do shit.

Put some miles on it like 500. Drain it and refill with Redline and forget about it.

Take note of the condition of the original fluid when you drain it, is it a transparent brown/yellow? Or is it a thick non-transparent black/grey cement colored?
