Oil used for 1jz

ok people say to use 5w-30 for my 1jz, but now i live in palm springs hot place to live in, i was thinking of using 10w-40 instead? what will you guys suggest to use? 5w-30 or 10w-40

0W-30 or 5W-30 is fine.

Factory recommends 5w-30. Read the oil and lubricant section for more detailed info and make a decision.

I use 0w30 amsoil synthetic signature series in my 1jz, been doing it DD for more then a year.

Check your oil pressures and see if it needs a little thicker oil, most likely xw-30 will be fine.
