oil pump Q

i found out my oil pump is bad and i need to replace it my question is do i have to completely remove the engine to change the pump? or can i just undo the mounds and lift it enough to get the pan off?

my stock gauge wont come off 0 and when running the engine makes lots of noise like it has no oil pressure and i took the valve cover off and the cam was dry.

Check to make sure your oil sending unit wire is hooked up and on good! I dont know how accurate this is but I was told to take the oil cap off, start the car and see if you can see oil moving. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable then me will have more info!

i was afraid of that. i do have an extra engine i was thinking about rebuilding. i guess i will go that route.

Yea, I would listen to gaboon, he helped me out ALOT when my oil pressure gauge wasnt working. Helped me fix the problem too.:icon_bigg

Is your gauge stock or aftermarket? As for the noise, can you get a vid of it?

my gauge is stock and its hooked up, and i know there is no oil getting to the top of the engine.
