I remember seeing a thread on SF about machining part of the oil pump to bring it to a slightly-below-minimum tolerance, raising pressure across the rpm range, including idle. I have been looking for it but I can't find it. I guess the idea is that there is some internal leakback which when reduced makes the pump more efficient. This does not take the place of the relief spring mod because that still determines where the pressure tops out. They are actually complimentary.
Does anyone remember seeing that or know what needed to be machined exactly? I think it's the face of the oil pump body that the cover attaches to, but I'm not entirely sure, and I am at the point where I would like to do this mod if I can.
