Oil pump driveshaft

I have a 7mgte that is in perfect condition except that some how the Oil pump driveshaft came lose and was leaking oil. I removed the driveshaft and it looks fine so i have no idea why it came loose.

I tried searching but couldn't find much info, what does it take to repair this? can it be fixed without disassembling the block??

Is there a bunch of play between the tab that holds it to the block and the shaft itself?

There shouldn't be...

the pully and the shaft had a ton of play in it and I had to pull the motor because it was spraying oil out like crazy. I could grab the pully and move it up down back and forth and i took off the pully and removed the driveshaft

it looked fine so im trying to figure out why it was loose and how to fix it

Sounds like the pump shaft bearing came out, or was never replaced? Anyone else???
