oil pump driveshaft removal on early 7m?

well, i got my engine out and just about down to a bare block.
but, i noticed that the oil pump driveshaft is not the same as when i stripped down my other 7M, which was a 90... so, the question is, how do i get that little fellow out of there? i dont want to be prying on the front case trying to get it out...

Mine just pulled right out, virtually no effort required. I assume that the oil pump is already out?

^^^ Ditto undo the 2 x12mm bolts and out it comes!

Not sure if a 90+ is any different never had my hands on one Kurt!

Well, maybe i can help. My engine is early 89 so it has square mounts. The oil pump accessory driveshaft is connected to the block via one bolt. To access this bolt you must remove the front aluminum cover with the 2 oil seals in it. It can not be pulled through the front cover. Does this help at all?

When you are trying to pull it out make sure a rod isn't in the way. LOL

that is correct

that why the oil pump rod has two "indentations" for rods to clear

yeah, i dont remember how i removed it on my 90 block....
i have not removed the front cover, that is why i cannot see how it comes out.

although i would have done that eventually, you saved me from wondering more about it... ambition has been low lately.. lol
