We were bored at work today and the topic of gas came up... i started bitching about it till my buddy told me that it was projected to be 1.50 for regular this coming summer? has anyone heard about this?

they were saying the oil companies are in trouble for jacking the shti out of prices....

It's already under $2 here. I could see it getting that low after the holidays(demand will be too high to let it get lower for a few months).

it might hit 1.50 in some areas, but not during the summer. the summer it will go back up, that's always the peak price season, because everyone travels, and the demand is higher.

regular out here in lower ny is like 2.35-2.39. i really dont think that the price of gas is all that bad. i can live with the way they are right now

Preimum is 2.35 here in Boise, but down in Salt Lake it's barely over 2.20.

I could see 1.50 regular, and 1.70 premium later this year. It should be .99 or less for premium, and about .75 for regular.

Hydrocarbons are totally plentiful, and the oil companies know it. "Fossil Fuels" are not from fossils at all. (Not dead dinosarus and compressed plant life like we were all taught in school. The reality is hydrocarbons are part of the earth, and as such, are here in HUGE amounts. It could be 1/2 a million years before we even "peak" at using 1/2 the stored energy in the planet. And that estimate is low from what I've read. By the time we start to run low on hydrocarbons here on Earth, we can go get them from the other planets in our solar system. Neptune for example is a huge ball of Methane gas. Think of it as a massive gas station in the sky.

regular here is $1.87/gallon.... Maybe the closer you are to the refineries...the cheaper it is!

Exactly. It takes time/gas to get the stuff there.
Just like the closer you live to the cigarette manufacturers the cheaper they are(paying 20.99 a carton at the moment).

it depends on state taxes too.

For exp:
in ohio 20 miles north regular is about ~$1.90

Now down where i live in Kentucky its between $2.00 and $2.10.

Ive got a friend with a gas station and he complains about it every now and then. He gives me good deals on that techron 93 oct. too. :icon_bigg

Basically, I hate everyone that pays less then 2.20 for gas. I'm visiting Las Vegas where gas is 2.20 but I'm from California where gas was 3.15 before the hurricane thing and is still well over 2.60. I've spent the last 4 months here in Vegas and when I first got here people were pissed off and complaining about paying 2.50 for gas. At the time i was paying 3.10 a gallon in California. For everyone else, please be happy with what you got and be glad your not paying more.

AHHHH, I remember the days of 99 cent gas. lets bring those back.

I remember 87 cent a gallon gas here when I got my licence years ago...

Fuel just went down to 1.81 a gallon.... Premium is 1.94 woo hoo!!!

I still can't believe that it is cheaper here in the "hurricane impact area.."
