So im about to order a aftermarket oil psi gauge, and i have a question about the stock oil psi gauge/sensor.

Since i wont be using the stock one, can i simply remove it?

This page http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?S=Main&P=044 says that its only used to turn on the CEL if the oil psi signal gets too low. If i remove it, will the light be on all the time? I know i sound cheap but i dont have the extra 20+$ to spend on this adapter. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_acce.asp?Subgroup=BSP_OTOD Any other ideas, or a diff place i could put the probe?

you have to get an adapter regardless, all the ports are 1/8BSP and most aftermarket senders are 1/8NPT. The difference isnt much but i wasn't able to get my 1/8NPT adapter directly into the block. I recommend you get one of these

Makes it so easy to put in your sender. There are other ports, one is in the same galley, to the right of the stock one. Has a plug in it from the factory, theres another by the dipstick tube. Theres a pic floating around here somewhere of all the locations. If you can leave the stock sensor in there it is better, but you probably wont notice any difference if you remove it, many people do, no check engine light.
