OIL Pressure Questions

okay so ive been given advice about raising oil pressure
1 shimming the oil pump how is it done and does it work
2 removing gte oil filter bracket how is it done and does it work
any advice would be cool as i was hoping to do it this weekend

and the big question what type Of increase am i looking at psi wise?.if any

The trick that I performed when the engine was built was to:

-REmove the stock oil relief spring in the oil pump, and measure the lbs of force. I found that a stock spring from a Small Block chevy 350 engine is about 5lbs more, and yeilds 40psi @ 3000rpm with 10w30.
