Hey guys, just swapped in a new gauge cluster into my 89 n/a 5-speed (also off an 89 n/a 5-speed) and the oil pressure gauge acts weird.
If i put the key on accessories, it'll slowly rise up to the very top. Once I turn the car on, it'll slowly dip down to 0 and stay. It makes no difference if I rev or not. I just checked my oil, it's right on the F, and it hasn't been making any weird noises (my old engine was taken out by rod knock, so I'm familiar with the sound)..
My old cluster's oil pressure gauge worked fine, until I installed my indiglo gauges (I'll admit it, I screwed it up). About 9 months later my engine gave up. I had a JDM 7MGE swapped in about 5 months ago. Is there a difference with a JDM's oil pressure sender? Or do you guys think it's the cluster?
