Oil overfill

I changed my oil a couple weeks ago and recently checked it and it seemed a little low. I put in around 3/4 of a quart and it seemed fine. However now it is at the top of the "F" past the hatch mark zone. I was wondering if overfilling it a little is going to cause any harm. If so I'll just change the oil again. My dipstick sucks and is kinda stained brown and its often really hard to see where the oil is on it. My engine was recently rebuilt so I shouldn't really be seeing any significant oil change.

i agree with IJ. the thing you have to remeber is that as soon as the engine starts running, oil movers everywhere in there. its not just all sitting in the bottom of the oil pan.

so, having a lil extra in there is not really a bad thing. no more than 1 quart over the max.

I run about a 1/4 to 1/2 quart over on purpose

EDIT: Also go to toyota and order a new dip stick, mine cost $14 and it is WAY better than the stock one.
