Oil Leaking from my Tailpipe - Turbo oil seals toasted?

Last week I noticed a little fluid by my rear bumper in the garage, and just figured somebody had spilled something and left it. That is until this morning when there was a fresh supply directly under my tailpipe, and a quick swab with my finger proved it to be oil. Clean oil - not burnt or anything, and it had to have come out the pipe after parking it. I haven't seen any smoke at start up or under boost, and there is absolutely zero indication of BHG.

I've never been surprised that I use oil. I see a little smoke when I open the oil fill cap when the engine's warm and little amounts of oil in my IC piping and turbo intake had me thinking blow by was consuming it.

With the oil oozing out the tailpipe after driving, I think the oil seals in my turbo are fried. Does that sound right to you guys? If they are going or gone, how long do I have before I'm going to have problems using my car?

Thanks,

-k

my car used to do that from time to time randomly on initial startup. im not quite sure i want to chalk it up to turbo failure. hows the turbo look playwise?

I found the reason for the oil. I completely forgot that I had left a quart of Mobil 1 in the plastic tray under the carpet on the drivers side. It tipped over, leaked and made it's way through the trunk and leaked onto the floor exactly where the exhaust exits the pipe.

I am dumb. :nono:

Yeah, it didn't add for me either so I started looking deeper and noticed it was dripping from the underside, not the tailpipe. As stupid as I feel right now, I'm glad I'm not looking at forking out the $$$ for a turbo rebuild. :ugh2:
