hello fellow supramania members!

I have been chasing a oil leak near the front of my engine now for about 2 weeks. It leaks about the diameter of a coffee can on the cement. I checked my valve cover gaskets, my cam seals, my oil filter, I have a very small leak from my oil cooler lines, (very small). Im sure its coming from near the middle front of the engine. I added dye to my oil and saw it comming from the water pump area and leaking down. Just have no idea what seals or anything is there.

If i can get some help it would be appreciative!

Thanks,

Patrick

Cam position sensor housing? Turbo feed/drain on the block or turbo itself? You pulled off the timing casing to see if you've got oil leaking from your cam seals yet? Just throwing out any ideas I can think of.

There's also gaskets behind the lower rear timing cover.. not 100% sure what it seals though to be honest.

There is no oil leaking from the cam positiong sensor houseing. Turbo feed/drain i rule out because its driping from the front. I did pull off the timing case and looked ay my cam seals.

And where are these gaskets for the lower rear timing cover? It seems to be coming from the middle of the engine (front). weird.

any other ideas?

That oil pump driveshaft leak would suck to replace! Any other ideas? Im going to take off my intercooler pipes, my turbo hose (the one that connects to the afm) and my strut bar and just look. Its driving me crazy!!!

I had this exact problem and it was my cam seals. I would stop and it would just piss a fair size puddle right at the front middle of the motor. It was leaking all over the water pump from this as well. My seals didn't look messed up but we changed em and it is totally fine now. One thing I did though after I wrecked two seals was loosen the bolts on the first cam bearing cap and tap it up the slightest bit with a rubber mallet, made it not so tight so the seals didn't catch one edge and bend.

this is a picture of kinda where its coming from. took off the timing cover (plastic thing) and couldnt tell where it was leaking. Possible its leaking behind the metal plate behind the cam gears coming from the cam seals?

my water pump also has oil on it. My thought is the revulutions of the engine is splatering all the oil up there? but i also cant find it!!!!

Yeah mine was soaked all over exactly like that picture, and my fan was full of it slinging it everywhere in the engine bay. I would do the cam seals, they're $15 tops each.

ok guys i changed the camshaft seals, valve cover gaskets, and cps o ring with still not fixing the oil leak. I took the camshaft sproket cover off to see my timing belt to have oil on it. With that said, with those seals and gaskets changed its leaking from the little 'weep' hole on the bottom of the timing belt cover( where the crankshaft is). So whats the deal?!!!!? If my timing belt is oily, whats leaking now!?!!

Those gaskets usually don't leak, but they can. More likely to have a front main or oil pump drive shaft leak.

I know was just saying for the rear timing cover seals. Tho those wouldnt leak onto the belt most likely.
