Oil Leak help please

Hi everyone,

I am having a hard time trying to track down an oil leak on my 7mGTE. So far I have replaced:

CPS O-ring
Cam cover gaskets
Oil Pressure sender
Cam shaft oil seals
Oil Cooler Lines

I have still got a fairly bad oil leak leaving a puddle of oil about 6cm across after leaving the car overnight. Is there anywhere else on the hot side of the engine I have missed? All the oil seems to be collecting around the rack then dripping from there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe your oil pan..

You could add that ultra violet dye and see exactly where it is coming from. I think those kits cost about 35.00 with the light.

Cheers everyone, I'll have a look at the turbo lines this weekend. Does anyone know the internal size of the pipes?

I just fixed my turbo oil lines that were leaking, my old gasket had failed and the turbo end of the lines would spew oil.


Lift the car, put on glasses, and have someone start it, if it leaks without running you should be able to see it while it is running.

Cheers for the replys everyone, I have examined further and the oil still looks as though it is coming from either the cam covers or the CPS. I have replaced the gaskets and o-ring on both items and used sealant on the cam covers. Would anyone have any info as to why they may still be leaking?

Cps could be leaking internally.

Cheers everyone for the help. I have now sussed out what is leaking on the car. It is the front camshaft oil seals. Ordered some of these from toyota so should be sorted tongiht.

Hi everyone, Just letting you all know it was the camshaft oil seals leaking. They were only £10 for the 2 from toyota and the old ones were rock hard. Well worth replacing if anyone has a leaky 7m it only takes 20 mins
