I was checking out my clip and put my finger in the intercooler hose on the turbo side where it would bolt to the intercooler and there was a film of oil on the inside of the hose...is this ok? Am I screwed...does anybody know?

This is common. The PCV system vents pre-turbo, so any kind of blowby adds oil to the IC piping. In theory, this all gets sucked into the intake, pushed into the cylinders, and burned... but in reality, some of it always sticks around in the piping to make people like you worry. :)

That's what I hoped was the issue...I just wanted to get confirmation from you guys. Thank you for making me rest easier. BTW this is a 12/90 model w/ the old style vent system and I don't even see a check valve like the 2jz's in place so that's what made me figure this is the issue. Thanks again.

***UPDATE*** My 7MGE and Auto trans. will be out of the car this weekend. Then I will get started on stripping the clip and readying the car for the 5spd swap and installation of the 1JZ...I'm excited as hell!!!!

^yeah, I was planning on doing this. I saw the post on SF reguarding the campaign in Japan. I just panic'd when I saw the oil in the hose and wanted to post up on it.
