Usually a claw type filter wrench will work at the right angle. Or drive a screwdriver through it and crank on that. Gives you a nice hand to armpit oil stripe but its gotta be done sometimes.

Use a metal cap-type filter wrench.
or for $50, buy my relocation kit with K&N oil filter and new Toyota oil filter stud.

Now that's a good deal, and every oil change in the future will be simple as hell!

The cap-type filter wrench is the best - loosens and tightens quite nicely.

Relocation kit sounds like the route I'm going to take. Tired of jacking my supra up 14325365654 times to get the right angle to get enough fingers on the filter to turn it. PITA to change oil. Do you have any pics of the kit?

its not that hard, just get a leather glove and a strong hand and all you need is four fingers to turn it, laying underneath the jacked up car with face at bellhousing my right hand can get in there perfect, getting the filter over the crossmember and out of the bay without pouring all the oil out is what sucks.

Yeah, I'd like to check out your relocation kit. Can you pm or post pics of it. Does it come with the lines also??? $50 - can't beat that with a stick !

i can change my oil without jacking the car up :). Slide underneath from the passenger side front fender angled towards the rear drivers wheel head first. Position arm grasp oil filter twist, and remove old filter. Apply thin coat of oil on seal on new filter reinstall new filter.

Slide out from the car reposition self on side of car under door reach under with 17mm socket loosen oil drain plug. Position drain pan, drain, cap, refill.

I want to see pics of the kit, Maybe it's me, but I can barely get 2 fingers on the filter unless it's in the perfect position/angle etc., Is their an oil relocation kit for the 7m that uses 2 filters?
