oil filter relocation setups

I ordered a setup and was wondering if you just out the one end of the kit to where the filter originally went or do you remove that piece and run the kit directly off the block. If so what are the hoses coming of the housings and what did you do with them. Naturally I will be running a cooler too as that was the purpose of the relocation kit
Thanks

if you want to do it directly off the block, you will need a very long 3/4-16 addapter.i pulled my cooler off and want to get rid of the housing also.i just haven't found the addapter yet.i'm using an earl's sandwich thermastat on mine.you can see it under the intake

I bought one from Summit that just screwed onto the existing piece that was there...I hate it, it makes my external oil cooler almost useless b/c the oil just passes right back through the junction piece and is re-heated by the coolant. I've heard you can use the N/A MKIV oil filter housing, but never seen it. I need to figure something out.

coolant is only 180-190.. you dont want your oil to go under that.. so its all good..

does anyone have a good photo of where the cooler lines go to under the intake manifold? and would we just block them off when removing the stock cooler?

I guess I never really looked at it that way. I'd like to install an oil temp gauge, just to get an idea of what the temp is.

Oil T Stat is a MUST with a full flow cooler circuit.....

I would never dream of running without one! and neither should anyone else

Anyone have a pic of how they ran there lines and where they mounted the t stat and relocater. My cooler is in the front corner, and i ran my lines back down the frame to the massive opening beside the bell housing but i cant figure out a good way to mount the massive summit t stat and greddy filter relocator. I might mount the t stat right to the frame but i am not sure if i will have enough clearance once everything else is reassembled.
Thanks.
i saw the pic of the 7m and i dont think that will work for my 1j.

This might be a dumb question but by full flow cooler circuit what exactly do you mean? Is that what the setup would be w/ the stock coolant cooled junction removed? Just wondering if I should be adding T Stat to my setup, oil pressure seems normal according to my autometer.

I come from a land down under
CNew: Be surprised how many do though....

FST: A full flow cooler circuit is one where ALL the Oil is sent through the cooler unlike most Toyota coolers which as Bypass Coolers that only send a % through and return it to the pan cooled.

With the stock 1JZ oil cooler my oil temps (running RP) get to 120 C far too fast for my liking. My old 1JZ had an oil cooler and stayed rock solid at 110C even on hard driving.

My car is primary for road course though. Very little daily driving now (Beamer gets better gas mileage).

That's good to hear, makes me wanna know what mine are even more now. Where did you have your oil cooler?

you can just run the coolant line directly to the block from the coolant pipe going around the block.i'll post a pic of mine for ya.you can see how far the thread's for the oil filter go into the block in this pic also
