ok, what size oil cooler will be needed. From the diagrams I saw, it looks like full oil flow will be diverted through the cooler upon the sandwich adapter thermostat opening. Will 3/8 inlet and outlet on the cooler be good enough, or do I need half inch or so? We sell a bar and plate 1 row(thick) trans cooler at advance for about $50 that has 3/8 in and out. The size is about 12" X 13" Would this be sufficient for a 7m engine? It is MUCH larger than the stock cooler, but the stock cooler only bleeds off oil pressure over 40psi. So, opinions? My buddy is running that cooler on his 300zx TT as an oil cooler, but I do not know wether he has a bypass pressure system or a temp based one. It looks like both lines go back into the oil filter housing on his Z....

it's our stock oil filter mount that bleeds off the pressure into the oil cooler. to fully take advantage of a larger oil cooler, you'll need to eliminate the stock mount, and get a thermostatically controlled unit setup.

3/8" is to small. You need 1/2" or more. I have seen people toast motors cause of running tranny coolers as oil coolers. also just like shaef said, you need to eliminate the stock setup if you want to run that type of setup.

I am fully planning on taking out the stock setup...I said in my post above I was planning on using a sandwich adapter with a thermostat to feed the cooler.
