Has any one Installed a after market oil cooler, on there ride you can get a oil cooler with a fan for under 200$ i think this will be a good mod for keeping the motor cool, but it does not seem like a lot of people do this, why?. will the oi pressure drop to low if a bigger oil cooler is installed. "cooler oil = better oil pressure cooler engine." More HP

you dont need the fan. Just get an average 8 X 11 X 1.5 cooler with good hoses, oil filter relocation kit and thermostat and you will be good to go. I used the aeromotive socketless -an hose with there fittings. Total was:
$70 cooler
$95 relocation kit
$150 socketless hose and fittings
$60 thermostat

like mega coolers that take up the front of your car ect

for me i use a B&M trans cooler with the stock bypass new lines ran an fittigns as well to stock locations
this is over kill for the type of racing i do but what ever

you do realize that the stock by pass doesnt flow oil to the cooler by temp but by psi (around 40 iiirc) where as with my setup my oil runs at close to the same temp and flows more oil than yours so I dont feeel any money is wasted. Do a little more research before giving not so correct advise. However I will agree that maybe it is over kill for normal dd driving but it is added insurance plus if I have the money to better my oil system then why not?

i said by pass i know what i said and all say it again

it will by pass eghough oil for it to be in the proper temp zone easy

as for oil flow it depends on your oil pump and if you decide to run the na oil filter monte

so don't be putting my shit down

simple stuff is great cause it's simple and works well and if it fails simple to fix

No nash, cnewingham is right. When you relocate the fliter, you remove the filter housing, and you need an external thermostat in that case. The stock cooler is ok for a stock horsepower daily driver, not for a 400whp car driven hard. The stock oil cooler is wimpy, and the stock filter location makes it a messy pain in the ass to do oil changes. Why talk someone out of a oil cooler upgrade?

I was wondering, has anyone done the relocation, and thermostat with a stock oil cooler, or dual stockers?

If not why, is that setup not efficient, or does it now flow enough?

Pressure diverted oil to a cooler is stupid.
Oil makes pressure easier when it's cold, so what sense does that make?

Temp controlled bypass is the only way to go.

Not trying to be an a$$ but again I stand firm on what I posted and obviously so does everyone else.

As far as putting your shit down, take it how you want cause I really dont care but dont miss guide people on things that you are not that familiar with so dont be afraid to use the search button to do a little more research before giving others advise.

damn all this hostility, am not missing with any filter relocation and stuff I just think a better oil cooler might help with engine temps I know that a fan on it may not be necessary but at such a great price why not I can just wire it in with the stock ac fan. off a relay of course, so when the ac is on in the summer my oil will get cooled even better.

sounds good to me.

no hostility. I just want you to make your decision with the correct facts and parts that you need to do it right.
