That's exactly what I did...AN8 stainless hose w/ AN fittings on the cooler...had to use the slip on hose clamp type on the stock hardline side.

The stock Cooler circuit is all assbackwards as it's pressure based so opens sooner when the Oil is cold/thick and later when it's hot/thin.

It's also a Bypass cooler so you're bleeding pressure/volume at 40 psi straight back into the pan.

A FullFlow Cooler with a T Stat gives great results on our motors.

The idea of the T Stat is so you're not cooling the Oil when it's cold.

This will only work on a Full Flow system where ALL the Oil goes through the T Stat/Cooler not a bypass cooler like the stock system.

Can't remember exactly but a couple of 100 should do it right!

You'll also need either a remote filter adaptor or a sandwich adaptor.

This is a good time to grab an NA filter stud and get rid of that poxy Toyota abortion ;)

Use of a T Stat is the best way to flow your oil through a cooler.

I chose the Tru-Cool because it is a self regulating bar & plate cooler. When oil is cold it is viscous. The Tru-Cool design allows the colder, thicker oil to flow efficiently through two open bypass channels positioned at the top of the cooler. As operating temperatures increase, the oil becomes hotter and thinner. It is then directed through the core where it is cooled.

Not as good as IJ's set-up, but seems to be working well for me.
