im looking to upgrade my oil cooler and the return lines. so i was just wondering if the oil cooler is for maintaining the heat or to reduce the heat of the oil? Next, is there a thermostat within the oil cooler lines? also any tips on what type of lines to run for the cooler.

thanks, John

You just answered your own question. But I'll be nice. It's a cooler, it's to cool the oil. There isn't a t-stat in the system, it's entirely pressure based.

NO. The stock oil cooler is controlled by pressure. When the oil pressure reaches 40 PSI i believe it opens up & allows oil to pass by to the Oil cooler.
