OH GOD.....NAME THAT PIPE

Okay, i thought it was an exhaust leak, apparently it isn't. What i found was that there is some piping that runs underneath the exhaust manifold and it is cracked, i stuck my hand under there and i came up with a lot of oil. I thought at first it was the exhaust mani gasket at the bottom, but it isn't. I had to stick a mirror so i can see and it is cracked. What pipe is this? And I think it is going to be safe to assume it is going to be a bitch to replace.

Upon further research this pipe runs underneath the exhaust mani and behind the block. I can't verify where it goes after that.

I think you are talking about the coolant pipe that also wraps around the back of the head.

I think there are 2 pipes that run alongside underneath the manifold and this one definantly has oil coming out of it.

hmm the 2 pipes that running under the exhaust manifolds are water/coolant pipes... if you have oil from there....BHG ?

unless it's the oil cooler lines there's 2 hoses coming from that too... (oil in this case would make sense)

Then it's a coolant pipe.

You know what, i might be a meatball, that i believe is not a crack in that pipe. I think it is a metal holder for that pipe. What do you think?

could it be the oil drain from the turbo?

nope, i have a custom line for the return line. I believe those are coolant pipes, but oil i think at one point was leaking from my valve covers and yesterday i stuck my hand under there and felt that little tab holding that pipe and it felt like a crack, but of course i couldn't see it because it was underneath the ex. mani. Little scare.

Based on what you're stating, if you're sticking your hand underneath the mani and coming backup with oil and you're POSITIVE that the oil is not originating from the valve covers then the oil leak can only be coming from the turbo somewhere. There's an oil feed and return that runs from that direction, check that. Probably will get further ahead by just ramping the car.

Well I think the oil came from the valve covers at one point, until i tightened them. My valve cover bolts tend not stay tightened, i may have to get new ones soon.
