pretty much, my car smokes....

After I let the car warm up, and get on it for the first time, the car makes a fairly good ammount of smoke, but never does it again until I turn it off, let it cool, and then drive it again.... is this normal? exhaust = bic dp w/ a 3" muffler bolted to it (exhaust stops under passenger)

I have the same problem with my Cressida.

My issue is that the turbo is leaking oil, mostly at the inducer, so the oil is air forced into the intake and then burned in the cylinders. Or at least that's what I think it is since the car did not smoke before I turbo'ed the car. If you take your IC piping and find oil spots, then that's probably your issue as well.

Could be valve stem seals

Hate to say it but the turbo seals are starting to take a shit....Find out the answer and just pull the lower intercooler line off at the turbo and wallah oil or not....If not you need to do a good intake cleaning on it,there may be oil built up in the grooves of the accordian hose, and it sucks thru after you jump on it....Valve stem seals always load oil into the cylinders after shut down and drip down the stems, doubt they are bad.....Overall it is probley not that bad since valve stem seals are FTW to do with the head on the car and CT-26's are still pretty abundant....

thanks for the good info... i figured it was the turbo, but thought i'd get some valuable input.... just means it's time for an upgrade :D... valve stems were done not long ago (3,000 miles)
