well when you hear a knock in that range i start to get scared. but don't get worried yet. there are many things that can knock. you best bet is to post a vid of the noise. saying it makes a knock is very vauge because you can't really imitate the sound with words if you know what i mean. as i sit at my computer and say "KNOCK" out loud it doesn't really help with diagnosing the problem. :biglaugh:

does it happen at idle too or only under a load?

thats shitty your having so many problems at once.

Crank pulley is loose, due to the Key being loose in the keyway, is the second thing to check, BUT before you remove the engine undo the front pulley Bolt(if its tight), or its a real pain to undo!

dude im like 99% sure its the rod knock especially since its in that rpm range and you can feel it, by the way your check engine light should be on, you should check the code and if its the knock sensor then its definetly the rod knock.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

the knock sensor is for retarding timing when it sense detonation, not rod knock, and it doesn't throw a CEL. The ECU doesn't know FUCK all about mechanical failure.

cut your oil filter open, cut a peice out and squeeze the oil out, and see whats left in the filter, if its sparkling:nono: good chances its bearing in there. i would also check your cam caps.

if you've diagonosed a BHG allready, than knock is more likely.
like you said, check when you yank the head...good luck.

black89t, martin, and pln-i would answer those q's too.

Its the big end bearings i have the same thing on my car. Sounds like ur oging to have to rebuild the top end(BHG) and the bottom end now. How many miles are on the car?

DO NOT drive the car. Anymore driving will put extra strain on the engine and will cause even more damage.
