I see a lot of these headers on ebay and want to order one but it looks as though the O2 sensor bung is too far back for the stock O2 sensor to reach. Can someone enlighten me on this? Also, where do the headers mate to? Do they go all the way back to the cat?

Hi, I had the Pacesetter header on my 87NA years ago. You are correct, the o2 sensor is relocated waaay down right before the second cat. In my opinion this is too far away for proper operation.
I am not sure about your car, but my 87's o2 sensor was non heated, (only 1 wire. I think later models were heated) o2 sensors have to be HOT to even work, so being that far down may decrease its performance. Not to mention that you have to splice in 4 feet of new wire.

I have an '89 N/A, and am considering the OBX headers, as they appear to be better built, and stainless. The 02 mount "is" too far back. Also, it appears that the downpipe is too long to just mount it all up to the cat.
I will cut the downpipe right after the "Y" (goes to headers), and cut off the cat mount flange. Then flip the pipe around so the 02 mount is up front, weld it onto my new Magnaflow cat, and the "Y" connector. :biglaugh:

Before i got my turbo, i had an 86.5 NA, with pacesetters. The o2 sensor is way off, but running a wire to it solves it, any muffler shop will do it.
