For 400 hp, there is little to gain for the money spent on cam gears. Spend your money on something else. post up what you plan on buying.

I know I need to turn up the boost, Soon as I get the wideband and electronic boost controller. The guys at the dyno that tuned the safc keep telling me not to turn up the boost untill the new intercooler is in..

There you go, Spend your money on the intercooler and wide band. They should come before the cam gears. Sounds like a nice build up!

Yea. I will keep the boost down. On that subject I have heard so manny diffrent opinions about that. 50% of the people I talk to say the Felpro and APR's to torqued to 75ftlbs will be ok with 400hp. Then 50% say it will not.

Either way A metal HG is on my list untill then I will go easy on the boost. Whats the going total price of a metal HG job?

Keep it out of detonation and the Felpro will be fine!

I will agree with that statement, I ran a composite for years on 425 rwhp with a tdo6-20g and ran it hard. Must have made a hundred some passes at the drag strip with it. Never blew. Not untill 1 year after I sold the car to a newb and he over headted the motor really bad. A do it yourself MHG job will cost you 130 ish for a gasket, about 50 for machine work on the head. And then a top end gasket kit. Maybe 300-350 bucks if you can still use your old ARP's

Behind the keyboard...
I've heard (read) stories that the OBX camgears are made out of weak / soft material and will eventually damage or break the timing belt. Might check into that before buying camgears of any kind

My daily driving habits are quite conservative. I actually try during the week to not use the turbo much at all. Besides the fact that on my way to work I usually pass about 5 speed traps in 10 random locations. Between Largo Florida and Tampa Florida (it’s about a 45min drive in the AM traffic) there has been too many "kids" killed racing. There was a bad accident only a month ago. So the state troopers and local police are really out looking. I am going to go to the 1/4 mile track soon as the intercooler, WB and Electronic boost controller are installed.

Thanks for all the advice!
