o2 sensor

I was wondering if any1 out there can disconnect their o2 sensor and see if there is a change in idle speed/engine note?I am wondering if my o2 sensor is dead though i have followed the tsrm flowchart for testing the o2 sensor and it seems to b working though the resistance is 4.5 instead of 3-3.5.Trying to workout why my fuel economy is so bad.my motor is 1990 7mgte jdm engine and car.

I don't believe O2 sensors last much more than a few years.
They should actually get replaced quite frequently.

when my 02 sensor fried my car ran very lean. I have a wideband so I could see this happening. I know that it gave me a code right away. on the bright side you can get an 02 from MDC for like $38 I think if he has a problem shipping it to Australia (which he wont) let me know, I ship there all the time!!!

Look in the vendors section of this site for MDC motorsports for the 02 sensor deal!!!

If you see Jasper over there in Perth tell him Tim with the turbo A said Hi and thanks Soooooo Much for the Wiring info he sent me!!!!

thanks for the info,i rung up toyota this arvo and got quotes AUD$250 + freight+gst+3week wait from japan.My (jap import car)engine is running very rich that i am doing 250kms per tank.i know that jap cars run rich but not this rich.I had a safc before (till a "friend" wanted it more than i needed it) and had to lean out the fuel accross the rev range.

Don't forget MDC.
He's got it for $30 USD plus shipping.
I've never ordered one from MDC so I don't know about the quality. But for the amount of an oil change, I guess you can afford to replace it every other year if need be.
