o/s Valve Question

I have a set of non-name O/S valves that I pulled from a head w/ ~8K on it. The stems have quite a bit of wear on them (bronze guides were installed when the head was rebuilt - i didn't own it at this point) - some of them through the chrome.

the intakes are p/n: P3834hpc
the exhaust are p/n: p3833hpc

does anyone know who these are made by? They seem to be real soft - but would like to cross reference them to make sure I don't buy another set. The machinest I working with seems to think its a ferrera nomenclature on the p/n but wasn't sure. I haven't found anything to support that yet - does anybody else know anything about these? (pics will come when I get home)

wear on the valve stems? sounds liek the machine shop didnt sec the guide to stem clearance to me. those valves are the ebay ones that were sold awhile back. guy sells those valves for v8's and the 22r etc.. the truck guys love them. i have a set for the 5m head and 7m head. had them checked out by the machine shop and they said they are top notch.

id say the guides wernt bored to the proper clearance.

That makes perfect sense to me too. I would think that the bronze would wear first (or if they were that tight, the valve would actually stick) But in looking at all the valves (have them in hand) and the guides (when I was in the shop today) the valves took the beating - the guides looked fine.

Thanks for the follow-up on the valve origin. I remember all the chatter about those ebay valves a while back (2 years maybe?).

On a side note, these have fererra springs above them - I wonder if too much spring and too tight of clearance had something to do with it. What springs are you running Will?

comp cams springs, #975 and ferrea titanium retainers. the motor those valves are going in wont be run for some time. there are others that have run them and ive not heard of any issues. i know peoplke with them in 22r pickups and have had no issues either. havent gotten them in the 6m im building yet either actually. thats what happens when you build more then 1 car at once, it takes forever to finish anything. lol
