So yeah I'm new to the car, but does anyone off hand know the size of the nuts, and I mean various nuts on the manifold-motor, manifold-turbo, turbo-elbow?

My car's nuts are so rusted up and they have that funky locking mechanism on them that I don't want to re-use them.

What would be great is if someone had a list of all the nuts/bolts this car uses in the engine compartment. I could just drop that list off at my local fastner specialst here in town and get exactly what I need. (maybe make a little kit for everyone to order)

Why not take them off, and find out what size they are when you do that? Then take them in to your fastner specialist.

they are trashed... well not all but alot... threads are gone. Also figured someone might have already been down this road.

plus I'll get dirty looks when I go in there and consume 30-60 minutes of their time only to spend $10.

i think nearly all the bolts, nuts, etc...under the hood, and probably even most of the car, are all 1.25 pitch and 10, 12, or 14mm hex head. There are exceptions, but nearly everyone that I replaced was that size.

if there's a fastenal near you they should be able to get you the same kind of nut/bolt....if not another fastener specific shop or even industrial supply shops can hook you up.

Those bolts and studs are pretty cheap from Toyota. You probably noticed the nuts have internal locking mechanisms, stuff you can't really get easily from your local shop.

IIRC, all of the exhaust manifold bolts were 14mm. You can't just place a socket on the bolts and tell what they are? Are all of them thrashed?

Not the exhaust manifold bolts, mostly the elbow, 02 sensor etc..

I don't want the locking nuts any longer, toyota is the only car I've come across with those type nuts on exhaust components...
