Freerunning is full of win.
Also, it might just be me, but I found back handsprings a lot more difficult than a backflip. So much more trust of yourself involved.

The guy in the first video is definately full of intestinal fortitude.........He's lucky he didn't break his wrists, but I bet by now he's got it down to a fine science.

backflips work your abs. if you have no practice in a gym or anything then both are VERY HARD.

He had to build upper body strength (in the video you can see his right arm always giving out).

True, but it was always a trust thing with me, its too blind of a landing for my liking. I never did it in a gym (unless it was gym class). I used my pool, and trampolines. I can almost pull a 1.5 into my pool from the side (4" drop from deck to water) My shoulders are hitting first, don't have enough height to get my hands out.

His main problem was that he was turning his head, throwing him off ballance putting all his weight on one arm.

That second video reminds me of a Top Gear episode where James May races two guys across the city, him in a car, they're on foot running and jumping over buildings and stuff. It was insane.
