Hi all! My name is James, I am from Maryland and I am the proud owner of a 1994 std cab Toyota pick up. I have owned it for 8 years now it is the reason i am here... I have toyed with the idea of doing the 2jz swap for about the last 5 years. After a lot of reading online I figure its time now that i have another DD (Lexus RX350) My poor little truck has been threw threw hell 3 accidents none of i was driving for or even in this country! It is currently running a stock 22re with a custom exhaust to clear the air ride. And that's about it. So i picked up a JDM 2JZ-GTE and the rear irs. I plan on continuing to run the air ride after the swap. I figure that will help with aerodynamics. I could be wrong. I have come here to try to learn the dos and don'ts of the 2JZ and hopefully get a bit of guidance for the spots when we get stuck. Any feed back or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome.

There is a great sticky in the other engine section done by Iboughtasupra. It's a good read and has just about everything as far as parts and info and some electrical links tho your swap will be going into a truck.

Iirc its called 1 and 2jz swap for dummies or something.

Welcome to Supramania James. We also have a pretty nice Other Cars section in off topic with a pretty wide variety of odd cars. Some with Supra engines, some with Toyota engines, some completely unrelated, but still cool (like my Chevy for example). Anyway, enjoy your stay here. :)

sounds like you have a good plan! i swapped a 7mgte/r154 in my truck about 1 1/2 years ago and been daily driving it since :D

if you keep it 2wd the 2jz swap shoundn't be much different. the only thing thats tight is the length of the engine. theres a ton of room on the sides compared to a mk3 so twins should fit easy if you plan on running them. i made a build thread here about my swap but not many people were interested lol

it sure is a nice change from the 22re though thats for sure! and the look on peoples face as a old mini truck screams past there new car or truck from a light is so great!!!

also have a body lift and a set of 30" mudders. and all i can say is boost+mud= :biglaugh:

Thats awesome man! Mud trucks are cool but all im looking to do is blow the doors off of all the mid life crises Corvette guys. Eeeh the mustang n camaros too i guess. Only trouble is going to be the rear.... the motor and trans are in finishing up the front suspension tomorrow. Yeah im bagging it. I have had many cars from the boxster when it first came out the Audi tt an 86 1500 on 44in boggers to a 1967 c10 that was slammed i miss having a toy now my dd is a rx350..... had to get a family car really wanted to get the mkiv but with the old lady finishing up her masters and having a lil one it isnt in the cards i have had the truck for years and always wanted to do the swap. So i guess its time. I think its more supra than pick up but it will be fun. Do you have a link to your build?
