t_rex.sized.jpg

Street legal, classified as a motorcycle (so you need to wear a helmet and get a motorcycle licence), but it has a 1260cc motor, does 0-60 in 3.8sec, costs $46,000 brand new, supposed to handle corners better then anything else on the road, and looks like a lot of fun ;)

Got to wonder how that would be here in Fargo, in the middle of the winter, with snow and -30 below. But then at 3.00 per gallon I may be willing to try it

We saw a black one of those back at SILV02. It was hanging out at the dyno - and drew a HUGE crowd! There is some footage of it on the first SILV DVD. I'd LOVE one of those things!

the ariel is cool and all (and quicker) but it's got 4 wheels which means it has to be registered as a car (would never pass here in the US) or registered as a kit-car (which is possible, but is a pain in the ass). Plus since it's a UK-company getting parts may be a pain in the ass, but it's got a honda engine so that should be easy to maintain. the t-rex is a canadian company so getting parts wouldn't be as hard for people in north america, plus they have dealers here who could repair/support the car. since the t-rex is classified as a motorcylce registering it is simple.

and i just think the t-rex looks cooler :)

For $46k, I would rather get an Elise. A/C when you need it, doors, don't have to wear a helmet, heater during the winter, and a cover for when it rains. Might not be quite as fast as the t-rex, but fast enough...
