Hey forum so i was looking around but couldnt get stable info on normal or usual oil pressure readings for our cars (7mgte) under all driving conditions like idling, regular driving speeds, and hittin boost. i know oil viscocities most definitely play a role in this. my car has approx. 168xxx miles and boostin 10psi stock turbo. What oil do you guy use/recommend? I live in Socal so weather is pretty stable year round never gets under 40 degrees f winter and summer rarely above 90f. help greatly appreciated :) !

The TSRM has this info iirc, but stock unshimmed oil pumps run 5-9psi idle at operating temp and 20 and up depending on speed and rpms. You need to factor in any line modifications as well like replacing the hardline in the pan with a SS braided one, and new fresh oil squirter banjo bolts (fresh springs make them harder to open vs old ones). Mine with all of that was idling at a good 10-20 psi at temp and 20+ depending on conditions. My 150k mile N/A on the other hand idles around 10psi and pressure seems consistent with rpms (3k rpms is 40+ psi and up). Hope this helps.

Just run 5w30 or 0w30 weight oil.

Stock psi is 4.3psi at idle. At 3k it should be around 35ish.

Oil pressure goes up with rpm not boost or how heavy you are with your foot.

Should go up 10psi for every 1k in rpm. Tho there is a relief valve in the pump that will limit what will actually go into the engine.
