yes, i have fear of my dignity for asking this question..
how exactly does the all the exhaust come out after the engine..i just got a little comfused..
is the downpipe connected to the turbo elbow and all the exhaust comes out of the turbo? exhuast?
or does a downpipe just replace a turbo elbow and go down to the bottom pipe right before the cat..i am confused.
im lookin into gettin a full catless exhaust but i forgot how the exhuast worked..heh...
someone please unstupify me.

There several parts to the exhaust system

First is the Turob (obviously) then it goes to the stock elbow, then to the downpipe, then to the cat, and then to the cat-back.

Many downpipes, such as BIC's, replace the elbow, for you dont need two different parts, and it works much better than two peices!

The downpipe will replace the turbo elbow and then you hook your catless exhaust to the downpipe straight to a muffler of your choice. Vroom vroom and away you go..............good luck.

I have a BIC DDP that I'm probably going to sell. I don't remember what I paid for it, but I will sell it to you if you want it. Send me a pm if you do.

exactly what i was lookin for. sorry, i just got confused. this comes as exciting news to me, because i only gotta buy one part instead of 2:biglaugh: would buying from ebay be a bad idea?
i also am gonna have to go with the RS*R GT2 muffler. i've always loved the sound of it over everything else. anyone got it?...anyone selling?

man, i cant afford a 300 dollar downpipe.

so what exactly is wrong with the one i posted? bad fit?

no, nothing wrong with it if you just want a stock replacement. It's 2 1/2" that opens up to 3" so it has a huge restriction cause you're still using the stock elbo. The one I posted is 3" throughout and has a huge elbo(hence the name) built into it allowing you to remove the restrictive stock elbo and will make your turbo spool like a champ.

The one you posted could only be connected to a turbo elbow. Assuming you have the stock turbo elbow. . . it is very restrictive. Save your money for a BIC DDP. You'll see amazing power gains.

The downpipe you posted doesn't replace the restrictive turbo elbow, however you can later down the road cut it up and weld in a custom turbo elbow.

$300 shipped isn't too bad of a price for the DDP IMO, it's about $370 new.

I don't know if all stock DP had cats built in, but mine did. One of those eBay DP actually helped my supra quite a bit when I installed it.

I got to hand it to all the guys who posted here for not flaming the guy for asking his question. Everyone just gave an answer and not one smart remark. This is how the forum should always be, I would +1 all of you if we still had rep

You won't regret it man.

ninja- I have the RSR Concept, very simliar to the GT. I love the sound of it as it doesn't sound too loud or too high. It's a nice deep sound.

so how much do you guys think the power upgrades will be for a DDP, no cat 3" exhaust over the stock exhaust? just something for me to get giddy about while i wait to buy the first piece of the puzzle of my exhaust in the near future..

IIRC, reandy did a test and i beilive it was like 46 horses over stock or somethign crazy like that.

Correct me if im wrong, ill go look for some ahrd facts.

EDIT- Taken from randy the builder himself!

The DDP made 28 rwhp more than the standard 3" BIC DP, when I did the dyno testing on a stock car with 3" exhaust. It would probably be close to 40-50 hp over a car with stock exhaust.
