Yes, my car is completely different with the top off, i need to get a brace for it. Oh and like he said it's better to start with the targa I would assume the cost to be high for conversion. Might make it back in 40-50 years paying insurance for a hard top though.

Steps to convert your non-targa supra to a targa one!

Step No.1
Sell your car for a good price

Step No.2
Do a thinking if your car was an N\A you might consider doing a turbo "swap" at the same time

Step No.3
Buy yourself a nice Targa Supra for a good price too and if you're intrested in the turbo swap buy a turbo one!

lol

When considering performance needs, the hard top is much more desirable then the targa. It is stiffer, lighter and just better all around. If you want to have the targa, get a targa car. If you want the lighter weight and good rigidity of the hardtop keep the hard top. All I know is that there is alot of extra bracing in the targa car to keep up rigidity when the targa is off. And even so with the targa off the car sucks for hard driving. It is loose, bouncy and doesnt handle as well. If you still want the open air feel and but the benefits of the hardtop, maybe you should consider an aftermarket sunroof. But the best is just a hardtop.
