Guys,
I have a 240sx that im trying to fix so i can get rid of it from my driveway. It was a car I had before I got my 89T supra. The timing chain looks like it jumped when i was driving it around last summer, but i think i wasn't going fast enough to cause any damage (conflict engine), Ive posted on the 240sx forum, but nobody there seems to post as often as they do here and thought maybe you knowledgable supra guys could help me out. Maybe some of you have one and have done the timing chain.
Im in the process of making sure the motor is at TDC, which I think I got. Now the distributor looks okay, i took off the distributor cap and the inside rotor is pointing pretty close to the number 1 plug, which goes to show it is at TDC. My question is though when this chain jumped what do I have to do to remedy the valve timing. That obviously has to be off if the chain jumped, correct? Any info I would greatly appreciate it.
I have pics located here, I don't expect to have all the answers as this isn't a 240 forum, but i thought what the hell, maybe someone has one.
Anyway here are the pics.
