OK.. I'm sure this will make you all happy or a tiny bit jealous... dont know if many of you remember me.. or my crappy life tale... but karma cought up with me finally and i got one hell of a karma present!
ok so here's the story in the thick plot as it pretty much happened...
I got very sick.. i have bad heart and chest problems which one day in the near future will take its toll on me.. I had an automatic turbo supra (1989) which i posted many pic's of, and had a crapload of work into.. (did a bhg job)
i sold it to move back down south where i could get surgery and proper treatment.. which absolutely broke my heart to part with my supra. I moved back down south after selling my baby for 1,200.. when i arrive, i am almost broke, but i'm with family and my long missed wife. Life goes on for a few months, broke and jobless... and no income.. i open my old shed that my dad gave me.. and there was a dirtbike inside... I borrowed some money from my dad (and then worked it off) and bought an arsenal of replacement parts for my 1983 yamaha xt200, which was extremely hard to locate parts for... I rebuilt the entire engine all the way through, not letting a single detail past me. I got new wheels, new chain, new tires, grips, handlebars.. etc... finished it up and sold it for $750... its time for a new paragraph, because this one is huge..
Anyways.. i waited waited and waited and looked at craigslist every day, hoping and praying to find an affordable and reasonably decent supra.. well, this takes us to 4 days ago. I found a 1987 toyota supra in palo alto california. A turbo 5 speed (even an r154 woohoo) its ALL original.... price says 800$. i think its kind of fishy.. i call.. and he says he cant get it to smog.i say ok do you have the smog papers... he said yes... i looked at them and it looks like all i need as a new o2 sensor. anywho.. i call him again.. and talk him down to 500$ cash sight unseen. I get there, TODAY, im driving and im hoping its not a heap of crap. i get there, and wow. i look at the car, no dents, no scratches, rear tail lights (pre 89) are cherry.. no spider cracks, chips or scratches.. paint is FOUR months old.. i open the hood... everything is clean... he starts it up, and it purrs... idles perfect, i go to the tailpipe and give it a sniff to smell for bhg... no sweet coolant! i check the dipstick, no milkshake. i check the cap, no milkshake. radiator full. wow.
ok so im basically drooling.. im amazed that this man is selling this car for 500 dollars... i ask him to drive me around.. wow it spools up nice... no funny sounds.. pulls pretty nice. i drive it and fall in love.. im in shock.. i quickly pan out the cash, sign the papers and drive away feeling great. wow.. i feel so lucky.. your probly thinking SOMETHING has to be wrong with it.. right??? well you are right... it needs a new master cyl. but whoopty doo right? so... i drive 160 miles home, NOTHING goes wrong,... no overheating, NOTHING. it purrs all the way home... and that leads me to typing this! i now have a supra!
well.. wow. im home now just so excited.. planning out my new build.. planning what the beast will look like.. although the paint is new.. i will repaint it black. I looked under the hood alot today and noticed nothing is missing or weird or half-assed. so anywho.. i just thought i would share my effing awesome score with you guys.. you deserved to hear the full story.. because alot of you helped me ALOT getting thru my previous supra's BHG. im so happy to have another supra again..
