Well I noticed my valve-train makes noise(always has), like I can hear the cams rotating around. But its very quiet(a slight "tick tick tick"), I can only hear it in the car when im stopped and the stereo/heater is off and everything or when the hood is popped. Just wondering if this is normal; my s14 did it, its whole life with no trouble. But from what i hear, the 7m seems to tolerate some things better or worse than any other engine. Anyways, let me know. Thanks much!

It its a rapid tic tic tic, then it sounds like valve adjustment is a little loose. Its a bit of a PITA to adjust them. Mine was like that for the first 2 years I owned it. Then they got adjusted when I did the valve job/BHG.

I've heard several with this, and they run fine. Better a little loose than too tight.

More than likely what you’re hearing is the fuel injectors firing. They make a tick…tick…tick sound and are quite noisy on our motors, this is normal, and is nothing to worry about.
