1987 supra turbo hard top maneul.. so i got my motor in and everything hooked up. no i have no spark!! the ground at the intake mani and the coil pack ground are all hooked up. tried a different ignitor. my coil pack worked before the old engine shot shits. the first time i cranked i got a 22-24-41-51 the first time i cranked it. now it just blinks an 11? which is not a code on the TSRM. im really stumped. we had to solder up the wires to the CPS all the wires matched up color wise except the black one on the wireing harness and the tan one on the CPS. im really stumped. i would perform test on the coil packs but i have no ohm meter. i will upload pics soon.

IIRC, most of the wiring back there doesnt have much to do with how the engine runs, except for a large (yellow/black on my '90) ground wire. Does your camera have a macro feature? The button for it is normally represented by a flower. It makes a world of difference for closeups.

Is the harness and engine from the 87? Or from a different year?

nope, my camera is a piece. i used the 87 wireing harness cause the engine is newer so the wiring harness was different, plus its off a RHD car so its to short, to bad though it is in really good condition.

i also switched over the necesarry sensors for it except the oil pressure one. im just leaving that unconected unless i can switch it over without taking alot of stuff off. also there is a grinding noise when i crank the engine, i think it is the start skipping teeth on the flywheel, it still cranks just makes that sound. can i shim the starter or anything to get rid of that? it really sucks cause i put alot of time into putting this damn motor in and now that everything is done if wont fucking start.

Idk how it is for you, but my cps wiring on my 90 go into the plug one color, but come out another... One that that does it is the black. It turns to tan. The only one that matched was yellow. But as you can see this is a different harness. My suggestion is to find someone with an 87 harness and see how they go into the plug.

so yours DOES turn from black to tan? and there is only 4 wires? the rest of them match up fine. and if the CPS is really off will the computer not send out a signal to spark? i have no spark at all.

i have no power to the coil under when the key is switched to ON. does that mean that i have a problem in the wires some where? is there a fuse for the ignition.?

What about the low tension wires to the coil pack? Does that plug match up good?
About the Cps... I would guess that it depends on which ones you have mixed up. I have no idea what each wire does independently, but if an important one is mixed with a not so important one, I could see the no spark situation happening.

problem is i have no plug there. if its that im debating taking the CPS that i got with the new motor and using that and cutting and soldering the plug from that wiring harness onto mine

well i tested see if power was getting to the coil pack using this test http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=IG&Page=12 i dont have a ohmeter but i used a test light and there is no power at that plug with the IGN on. so would that be a wire problem?

never mind i figured it out...........i traded the cps and re-wired them together and it started FINALLY! but about the starter, do you shim them or what?
