no spark

this is a strech, but what about the alarm?
EDIT-
I think if it were the alarm the engine wont turn over.

check the 7.5A IGN fuse in the driver's kick panel.

so does my 86.5. but all the alarm does is kill the starter. everything should still illuminate and function as normal, except for the starter.

If the CPS is faulty, or the wiring to it is shot, it will kill the spark, since the computer assumes the engine isn't turning over.

One of the more common reasons for not getting any spark in my experience.
