no one understand valve spacing?

ok i know about the tsrm i've memorized the procedure for setting the valve spacing and putting in the shims the hard part is getting the materials.

i have gone to every parts store in this town and asked for 1: valve spacing tool and 2: replacement shimms for valves. the responses i get are 1: head scratching followed by an ummmmmmmmmmm. 2: "whats that?" 3: srry man but we dont have anything like that.

for all you guys that have gone through with your valve spacing tool and replacement shimms i have one question

where the hell did you get your tool and where did you get your replacement shimms????

as long as they're not to worn down you've got a deal. where do we get them though, it bothers me when we cant buy parts that we need. last hope i had was the dealer. thnx pm sent.

Shims can be purchased in three spots.

1. Dealer.
2. Yamaha. IIRC, they are the same as some Yamaha shims because Yamaha helped design the engine.
3. Machineshops can make them for you - usually for about the same cost as the dealership charges.
