Well since it was such a beautiful day out today I decided to go out and do some wheeling in the truck. I haven't been out since I smashed up my grille, but figured it had been warm so I might be able to find some mud.
So a friend and I head out to an easy trail. We start going along and not even 5 minutes into the trail we come to the first big hole. I slap her in 4lo and go for it, I start going through and it's not as deep as I thought it was going to be. Then the 5" thick ice broke, so I got a little stuck and figured I'd just reverse out, I was slowly getting out and then all of a sudden I hear this psssssssss sound and immediatly figure out it's coming from ym driver side front tire. I get out to see why I'm losing air and I see this big chunk of ice about the size of my head inside my wheel. I run my hand inside the wheel and discover that the big chunk of ice had sheared off my valve stem.
I tried to get the truck out quickly but it wasn't going anywhere and I didn't wanna wreck a tire. So we get this stock GM (ugh..) to try and pull me out with. It got stuck pretty quick, bald tires + mud = stuck GM.
So I gave a friend with a 4 Runner a call to come and try to get one of the trucks out. He's got 31s on it right now for winter, but he has a winch. The 4runner was too light so it wasn't moving anything. I gave my Dad a call and he came out with his brand new GM duramax. He quickly got the other truck unstuck. We then moved back over to my truck, since we all know GM's suck for doing pretty much everything, he almost got stuck just getting to my truck so we could hook up the strap. Tried that a few times, but my truck would not budge.
It finally took my Dad's truck and the other GM hooked together to pull my truck out, I got it out changed the tire and drove it home.
The preliminary damage report (i'll have a better one tomorrow when it's light out)
Sheared valve stem.
I smashed the lower edge of my bed up just in front of the pass side rear tire.
I am 99% sure I lost a belt, just not sure which one because my hood doesn't wanna open. I think it's my alternator but not sure cause the truck was running fine and I still had a good charge.
Well onto the pictures I guess.

So after all that I have decided no more winter wheeling. I'm just going to have to fight the bug to go out and wait till spring.
